Stanley Cup – Playoffs Style

I think that this is the the first year that I’ve really felt the Stanley Cup playoffs spirit. Last year was the first year I followed along because my team, the New York Rangers (born and raised), made it to the final. This year they have a second chance and have been chosen as a favorite to win. The boys in blue haven’t won the cup since 1994 (the year my sister was born, how appropriate for my Dad) and I think this is their year- for real this time. Last weekend I joined my first hockey pool with my boyfriend and his guy friends. I’m extremely confident with my players that I picked and am for sure going to win. I did my research, guys.

How unfortunate for my Buffalonian friends across the border for your Sabres coming in dead last in the league this year…*awkward*…I really hope things turn around for them soon. Lucky for you guys, living in the New York state entitles you the ability to cheer for three hockey teams! Sabres, Islanders and Rangers! And if all else fails, there’s always the Bandits or the Bisons.

So by now you’re probably wondering… why the heck is the style girl talking sports? Well, I work in public relations and what we spend our days doing is trying to fit our products/clients into relatable events or pop culture happenings to garner media attention based on interesting stories. So I thought to myself- how can I tie in the Stanley Cup playoffs into my next blog post…Fashion is present in sports. Someone designed those uniforms to look awesome, and just like that thousands of fans want to wear the same things that their team wears.

So here are some ways that you can rock your team colours during the playoffs!
