Spring and Summer Beauty

Seeing as my previous post was all about transitioning from winter to spring, I feel like I could expand on that topic further and discuss beauty. Comparing winter and spring beauty is like comparing apples to oranges. In the winter it’s all about heavier silky matte foundations, dark lip and eye shadow colors, and heavier black eyeliners. In spring and summer we all want to rock the dewy, glowy highlighted skin and beachy coral tones and accentuate our summer skin with bronzers and tanning creams.I’ve already started to transition my color choices and have started to wear pink and nude lipsticks again rather than reds and berry tones. I also have started wearing my BB cream again for a sheer dewy look and nude no-makeup-makeup.

These are my spring beauty must haves.

I am a huge lover of BB creams and tinted moisturizers. I can’t stand heavy foundations, so I have really taken care of my skin; that way I don’t have to cover anything too much. I love the natural look they give, and there are so many different ones on the market now. I’ve always gone back to the Garnier BB cream because it’s so natural looking on my skin and feels hydrating. My sister loved the Smashbox one, and I’m really wanting to try out the new Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue, which is a “tinted hydrating gel cream.” Sounds like the perfect thing for my dry skin.I have been using the same Neutrogena moisturizer for years, and it’s always worked great day and night. I have added in using Aloe Vera gel on my face, it’s great for healing any acne marks you might have and clears them up quicker. I find that it has made my skin look great and is a great base during the day. I also always take off my makeup, no matter what, and wash my face morning and night with gentle cleansers.I also added flash tats in because they seem to be a summer weather must have now! I bought a pack last summer and wore them in Florida. They look like jewelry and are so pretty in the sun! Sephora sells them now!One last note: don’t forget the sunscreen when the warmer weather comes! I love wearing Hawaiian Tropic because it smells so good and summery. The La Roche Posay Anthelos is awesome as a facial sunscreen. It’s very light and doesn’t feel greasy once it’s rubbed in. You can wear it everyday under your makeup. Here’s hoping for warm weather soon! Bring on the sun!
