WGOInBuffalo Fantasy Football, Week 3: The Pendulum Swings

Surprising Highs and Lows Threw Off the Managers this week.

Surprising Highs and Lows Threw Off the Managers this week.

It was a strange week in the league – definitely feast or famine! For the 2nd place Pegulaville Gassers, the weekly powerhouse tandem of Matt Ryan and Julio Jones combined for 73.74 points, which was good, because the usually dependable Frank Gore scored only 1 point for the matchup. Craig’s Chicken Wing Kings suffered a similar fate when Arian Foster, listed as questionable, pulled himself out at game time, netting CWK a big, fat goose egg.

Half of the starting QBs in the league performed below their anticipated output, putting our managers in a tough spot for the upcoming week. While the quarterback is not frequently the highest points-producer on any given week, a manager needs to depend on them to boost the team with a steady output. Injuries are also beginning to take their toll – those players that were supposed to bring your team to the next level have found themselves in streets on the sidelines. Also affecting teams right now are the bad-boy running backs – probably high draft picks that have left our managers high and dry.

When the dust cleared, three powerhouse teams remained undefeated; congrats to the Gassers, the Sinsinators, and especially Show Me Your TDs, who had three dominating performances – scoring nearly 200 points as a team this week. The undefeated herd will be thinned as the TDs and the Gassers face off this week in a highlighted matchup – the league’s highest scoring team against the team that has allowed the fewest points against. Who will remain on top? Yahoo prognosticators have the Gassers projected to win by 20, in a surprisingly low-scoring affair. Stay tuned for more exciting action! See you next week, WGOInBuffaloers!
