Twitter exploded a few hours ago with a leaked memo by the Buffalo Bills Fan Alliance, which implicitly states that one of the members of their ownership groups sole purpose is to assist in the sports ownership affairs of Rogers Communication and was responsible for the acquisition of the Toronto Blue Jays and is part of the ownership group attempting to acquire and move the Buffalo Bills to Toronto.

The smoking gun is buried within a 400-page public filing that provides a brief bio of one of the businessmen associated with the Toronto group, Rajiv “Roger” Rai.

That’s right Buffalo Bills fans, it’s not bad enough that we’ve been forced to accept that Jon Bon Jovi gets a second chance, let alone stomach his shitty letter to Bills fans a week ago in the Buffalo News. Now that it’s obvious he has little to no intention of keeping the Bills in Buffalo, he should be forced to bow out. The point of this sale in terms of what the NFL and other owners (except Jerry Jones) have laid out is that the Bills should remain in Buffalo!

The simple facts here are as follows:

  • Bon Jovi is not liquid enough to even afford a majority stake in a NFL franchise. His estimated net worth of between 300-500 million dollars is nowhere near enough capital to own a NFL Team, and owners that need to worry about handling payroll need not apply.
  • It’s clear that Tanenbaum and Rogers Com., are in this for the sole purpose of moving the Bills to Toronto on the belief that it could make them serious money. Given though what they’ve seen in turnout up there in the series, they should second guess that!
  • Pegula is our only hope here! He is worth well over $5 billion at this point after selling oil rights for over $1.7 billion dollars in cash. That’s right; I SAID, IN CASH!!!!!!! He has the assets to cut a check and then will easily have the operating income to run the team. He’s a savvy investor who is betting big on Buffalo anyway. So why not buy the Bills?

We have but one hope, and we know who that is.

Jon Bon Jovi may have thought this was a good idea, but his actions leave me with but one thing to say: Hey Jon go F@#$ Yourself!
