Don’t Forget Memorial Day Is More Than a BBQ.

American Flag blows in wind

In Western New York tomorrow and Monday, people will be enjoying the great weather we’re supposed to have. They will be headed to Beaver Island, opening cottages in Canada, having family and friends over for BBQ’s, but lets not forget why we have a Memorial Day.

Tributes in Buffalo

In Buffalo’s Forrest Lawn Cemetery there are over 5,000 Union Solider’s laid to rest. Their direct descendants will fill in at Forrest Lawn to pay tribute. There will be a rifle salute and The Color Guard is going to be a combination of the 155th New York volunteer re-enactors, and New York Engineers.

The American Legion Memorial located at the Main Street entrance with be the site of a Memorial Service tomorrow at 8:30 (Sunday). It is open to the public and free to attend.

It’s good to remember those who helped and continue to allow us to enjoy the freedoms we have.

Thank you Service Men and Women!
